A Catholic thought, in a heatwave
I was talking to someone about this heatwave that has kicked-off into the most extreme over this weekend, and she said it made her grateful she was safe - - -
- - - grateful she wasn't spending eternity someplace this warm!
I was so thrown back by her statement, that I couldn't respond. And - in this case - that's a good thing! ;>
By her behavior (and not only towards me) - no, no, I wouldn't say "oh that one belongs going to hell!" I tend to reserve those thoughts for those who have caused unstoppable tears, like serial killers and despots.
However, because of her behavior (and again not only towards me and the stinky situations and sayings she's directed at me over the past several years), neither could I see myself standing at her graveside knowing that she was set for heaven. I tend to reserve those spots for the Mother Teresa's of this world.
Hello, Purgatory! and thank you GOD you have led me to the most true faith practice, that teaches me about such clean-up spots!!!
Which I purposefully reserve for so many sainted sinners, like yours truly.
