Law & Order is back --

-- and that may not seem like a post for a blog based on GOD , but stick with me.

I love the whole Law and Order franchise! ~ the professionalism; the ripped from the headlines; the showing the dual natures ; all the debates and thoughts about how to interpret the law ; the insight into the lives of those upholding the law .....

The latest Law & Order: Organized Crime,  with the Armenians, I was glued to AND uneasy about.  It was as if they had to "dirty up" Elliott.  Also, they ripped away his homelife, and I hate when they revert to this bane of destroying the cops themselves, in more modern tv detective shows!

Last evening, I watched the opening gambit of Law & Order Season 21. (Go, Dick Wolf!)  It was a ripped from the headlines on Cosby.  And there were some new actors and actresses, and there was my biggest sticking point --

I don't care for Camryn Mannheim, either professionally or as a person.  She has been on the bully pulpit for abortion.  And every time I saw her acting at the Lt. in this new season of Law and Order, heavy-handed, leaning over and into people like a female LBJ, all I could see was - that.  It was distracting and distasteful, and actually made me think carefully if I want to continue with Law & Order in its present form!

Additionally, the white detective was more of a caricature, than a full-bodied character, and the Latina ADA - until the scene where she had to give the closing to the jury (and yes even so I still want to know how I can become an extra, so that I can serve on a Law & Order jury!) - she was dressed in a sexy weathergirl on tv style that was inappropriate for her office.
